  • Care groups win innovation awards

    Dan Santy

    07 August 2008

TWO care groups have won awards for their efforts towards innovation in the industry.

Kitchen staff at the BEN Town Thorns care centre in Easenhall and eXtracare in Harborough Magna won two out of eight prizes at this year's Voice of Care awards.

BEN Town Thorns was awarded for its commitment to making meal times more satisfying for people who can only eat liquidised foods, and eXtracare was celebrated for providing its staff with learning and development opportunities to help them in their work.

Matron of BEN Town Thorns Helen Owen said: "We are delighted for the kitchen staff. They have put so much effort into the food and deserve every bit of praise for their hard work. We are very proud of them."

The ceremony held earlier this month in Stratford was organised by employer's forum Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership for Care. Each award was sponsored by organisations in the region.
