AFTER a four week break Lutterworth Ladies Hockey Club got back to winning ways against Charnwood on Saturday.
Lutterworth made a positive start to the match with attacking play which brought on the first goal of the match for Heidi Whitmore after she hooked in a a cross at the near post.
However the visitors gifted Charnwood a leveller soon after as the ball trickled over the line for the hosts.
Losing the lead shook Lutterworth and errors started to creep into the play which allowed Charnwood to fire into the lead.
Then Steph Fox came to the rescue from the penalty spot equalise before Kerry Young put Lutterworth back in front.
Charnwood again levelled the game at 3-3 before Fox was on hand again to grab her brace.
Sarah Clewlow put Lutterworth two goals up with a skill-full reverse stick strike but the advantage was halved as the hosts found the net for a fourth time.
Lutterworth then came under heavy pressure but top-scorer Leanne Hutley added her name to the scoresheet to make it 6-4 to the visitors.
The following day Lutterworth hosted Loughborough Students 4th and were on the wrong end of a five goal match.
Straight from the whistle the students pushed forward and started to carve a way through their hosts.
They built up a 2-0 lead before Hutley could pull one back by half time.
Lutterworth squandered chance after chance to level and were made to pay when Loughborough got their third.
Lucy Elliot found the net for the hosts to leave them just one goal down but again they missed a plethora of chances on goal as the students took the game.
