A NIGHT at the opera with three talented performers will be staged at Rugby Theatre.
The 60-year-old theatre will present the evening of classical music in conjunction with Rugby Art Gallery and Museum on Sunday, April 19 at 7.30pm.
Soprano Claire Prewer, cellist Richard Jenkinson and pianist Benjamin Frith are set to appear and will perform a programme including A Portrait of the Don, Voi Che Sapete and Flying Dutchman among other classic works.
Claire Prewer is a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and has experience singing in a wide range of styles and genres with recent performances including Elgar's Kingdom and David Fanshaw's African Sanctus to her name.
Richard Jenkinson has played the cello since the age of five and is also a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. In 1998 he was appointed principal cello with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and is a keen chamber musician.
Benjamin Frith has 17 solo discs to his name along with performances with many top orchestras including the Israel Philharmonic, Warsaw Philharmonic and some of the BBC's orchestras.
Rugby Theatre will also host a night of chamber music performed by a quintet of members of the Innovation Chamber Ensemble on May 17 at 7.30pm. Their programme will include music by Luigi Boccherini, Frank Martin and Franz Schubert.
