  • Ladies choir's charity performance

    PS

    26 March 2009

THE Woodland Singers are teaming up with local musician Simon Bayliss for a Classical to Pop concert.

It takes place at Harris School on Saturday, April 25 at 7.30pm and will include a varied selection of songs, such as Gershwin's They Can't Take That Away From Me, Pie Jesu from Lloyd Webber's Requiem, Mozart's Alleluia and also numbers from The Sound of Music and South Pacific.

Organisers say the concert will give guest soloist Bayliss the chance to perform some of the music he loves, but rarely gets to. He will also join musical director Gill Clark and choir member Dawn Little to sing the trio from Mozart's Cosi Fan Tutti.

A raffle is to be held during the evening in support of the choir's current charity, The Bungalow Centre, Rugby Mind.

Tickets cost £5, concessions £4 and under 16s £2, and are available from Bilton Post Office, Woodlands Post Office, choir members, and on the door.
