  • Rock band's free pub gig

    Simon Gilbert

    09 May 2008

LATE night revellers can rock the night away this Saturday (May 10) at a free live music gig.

Rock band 7 Dayz will be performing at The Jolly Abbot on Lower Hillmorton Road on Saturday as part of a tour of the Midlands.

The five piece band was formed from the remnants of melodic rock band Heaven Sent which split in 1996. Six years later the group reemerged with new music and a heavier image.

The band comprises of John Hampton on lead vocals and keyboards, lead guitarist Dave Wasson, Steve Grocott on rhythm guitars, bass guitarist Steve Boltwood and Andy Pierce on drums.

They are currently writing material for their second album which is expected to be slightly heavier but have a more melodic edge.

The band draw their influences from artistes such as Dare, Harem Scarem, Journey, Magnum, Mr Big, Thin Lizzy, Thunder, Tyketto, Van Halen, Whitesnake and Winger.

Entry to the gig will be free of charge and the group are scheduled to be on stage from 9pm until 11.30pm. For more information call The Jolly Abbot on 01788 565484.
