TWO men were attacked and robbed by a gang when they got out of a taxi after a night out.

The two victims were approached by a group of men near the junction of Claremont Road and Clifton Road between 4am and 5am on Sunday (February 17).

One of the men was punched in the head and thrown into the road, and his friend was kicked in the head and face after trying to help him.

Both victims had their mobile phones and money stolen from them.

After the attack they managed to raise the alarm with a friend and were later taken to hospital for treatment for their wounds.
