BUSINESS brains are being urged to show off their skills in an Apprentice-style competition to raise cash for Myton Hospice.
The 'Take 50' Challenge' gives teams 50 days to turn £50 into as much money as possible for the charity.
The annual competition launches on March 12 and will end 50 days later on May 2 at an awards dinner, when teams will report their final earnings. Awards will be presented to the teams which have raised the most money and who have shown the most innovative fund-raising ideas.
Myton fund-raising manager Hannah Morris said: “This is our third Take 50 Challenge, which over the last two years has seen 32 teams take part, raising an incredible £55,000.
“We hope more businesses will take part in this year’s challenge, promising to strengthen team spirit, raise your company profile and open up networking opportunities, while having great fun competing against other local businesses.”
Teams can include three or more people and they can be as creative as they like when it comes to increasing their £50 – as long as their methods are legal and ethical.
Staff from The Coventry Building Society are the team to beat this year after winning prizes for the past two years. In 2011 they took the award for the most innovative ideas following a charity bike ride and last year won the prize for the most money raised after reaching £6,000.
