A MASKED man punched a woman in the face for no apparent reason as she made her way to work in the morning.

The 25-year-old was walking along Leicester Road past the Avon Mill pub at 9.30am when the man - who had a scarf covering his face - asked her what she was looking at.

He then punched her in the face in what police are calling an unprovoked attack.

The woman continued on her way to work and told a colleague what had happened before police were alerted.

The attack happened on Thursday January 3. Police say the man was white, aged between 19 and 21, around 5ft 8in tall and clean shaven.

He wore a black baseball cap with a white Nike tick on it, a black scarf over his face, a dark tracksuit top and dark jeans.
