Schools reopen but more snow arrives

ALL schools have reopened across Rugby and Warwickshire this morning (Wednesday) despite the arrival of more snow.

Forecasters say the big freeze is set to continue throughout the week.

Most main roads appear to be clear, though ice remains a major problem, particularly on unsalted minor roads.

There has also been disruption to bin collections and postal deliveries across the county.

Since Friday (January 18) - as snow began to fall - ambulance crews have been kept extremely busy, reporting a rise of 14 per cent in 999 calls.
