A CALENDAR featuring homeless people across Warwickshire is being created to the support charity projects aiming to get them off the streets.
Photographers from the company Raw will be spending time over the Christmas period approaching various charities and talking to people in vulnerable situations that would be willing to take part by having their photo taken for the calendar.
The idea stemmed from one evening after the team attended a business meeting and came across a homeless man sitting in a doorway.
One individual in Leamington known as ‘Ozzy’ has already agreed to take part, having been homeless for several years after getting into financial difficulty and losing his home.
He said: “A couple of quid will buy me a warm cup of coffee and a burger and fix me for the day but during this time of year the weather conditions are challenging and you need that little bit extra to see you through.”
The first photoshoot will take place over the Christmas period and the image will feature on the calendar for the month of December 2014. Raw photographers will then spend 2013 approaching individuals that are currently faced with homelessness or are currently homeless to create images for each month of the year that will form the calendar.
They will also be teaming up with Alternative Rootz to run taster workshops throughout the year in photography and filming to encourage those in unfortunate situations to learn a new skill and give them hope that a life off the streets is possible.
