STARGAZERS are being urged to look to the heavens.
Local Facebook group Astronomy for Fun will be hosting a free event on Saturday January 12 linked to the popular BBC tv show Stargazing Live.
It will take place at Harbury Rugby Club - owing to the dark skies and lack of light pollution - near Leamington, from 6.30pm.
Gary Colville, one of the founders of Astronomy for Fun, said: "Astronomy is really popular at the moment thanks to programmes like Stargazing Live and scientists such as Brian Cox who make things easy to understand.
"I'm more passionate now about astronomy than I was when I started looking at the night sky 33 years ago."
Gary's highlights during his time stargazing include seeing Jupiter and Saturn and the International Space Station
Everyone is welcome at the Harbury event, from first timers to experienced night sky watchers. Those with telescopes are welcome to bring them, but for those without, there will be telescopes they will be able to have a look through.
The Facebook group was launched in September and has members from across Coventry and Warwickshire, and further afield.
