POLICE have charged a teenager and are searching for two others in connection with a series of car break-ins in the town.

The 17-year-old boy faces a number of charges including taking a vehicle without the owner's consent, interference with vehicles and theft, as well as possession of cannabis.

It comes after police were alerted to a number of attempts to break in to cars and sheds yesterday (Wednesday) morning between 2am and 3am on Benn Street, Lower Hillmorton Road, The Arbours and Timber Court.

Officers arrested one of the young men, but two others escaped on their bicycles.

The 17-year-old was remanded in custody and was due to appear before magistrates in Leamington today (Thursday).
