A MAN whose body was found in the canal at Crick is thought to be a 63-year-old from Suffolk who had a boat moored in the area.

The body was discovered in the Grand Union Canal at Crick Wharf, near to Edwards restaurant, by a passer-by at around 8am on Thursday morning (December 13).

Police cordoned off part of the canal and carried out enquiries throughout the day.

Formal identification of the man has not yet taken place but there are believed to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report is being prepared for the coroner.
