A PUB curried favour with three rugby stars to boost its fund-raising efforts.

The Merchants Inn, on Little Church Street, invited three special guests from the Leicester Tigers to its Beer, Banter and Curry charity evening.

Craig Newby, Matthew Tait and Scott Hamilton joined in to help the pub raise money for the Matt Hampson Foundation for people seriously injured through sport.

The trio took part in a question and answer session on the night, which raised £1,200.
