ASDA has opened its new petrol station in the town - and is offering the cheapest fuel in Rugby.

The supermarket giant's petrol station opened this morning (Monday) opposite its store on Corporation Street.

And it is offering petrol at 129.7p a litre and diesel for 137.7p at the new station, which was previously run by BP.

MP Mark Pawsey, who attended the opening, has said he hopes it will drive down Rugby's fuel prices, which are notoriously higher than those in most neighbouring towns and cities.

According to the AA, towns and cities with an Asda petrol station are likely to have lower fuel prices.
