Rugby Welsh 24 Wellesbourne 22
Midlands Five West (South)
DAZ Wade's late try gave Welsh an important league victory on Saturday as they completed an excellent recovery to defeat a Wellesbourne side who led for most of the match.
Welsh knew they would face a challenging afternoon as previous meetings with Wellesbourne have been traditionally close affairs and it was the visitors who started the brighter on this occasion with an early converted try.
A good response from the home forwards saw Wade narrow the gap with two well struck penalties before Wellesbourne responded with one of their own.
Welsh's first try of the afternoon followed when Jason Reynolds crashed over from short range for a well taken converted try that proved to be the end of the first half scoring.
Both teams created chances in the second half but Wellesbourne seemed to have taken control when they scored two tries, one of which was converted.
Welsh responded well though and showed plenty of determination as they hauled themselves back into the game in the final quarter.
McLoving continued his excellent run of form with a converted try which Wade converted and they then camped themselves in Wellesbourne's half for the final ten minutes.
They were rewarded for their efforts when Wade clinched victory with a try that came with just two minutes left on the clock.
