WELSH built on last week's victory with another good performance in Saturday's local derby.

The opening exchanges were closely fought but it was Welsh who took the lead when good work by prop Chris King and scrum half Jamie Cranham saw Woods finish off with a try in the corner.

Going ahead allowed Welsh to gradually impose themselves on the game with Frankie impressing at number eight and he was also kicking well, increasing the advantage with a penalty.

Wayne Bates' converted try got Saints back into the game before half time but Welsh took control again early in the second half.

Jim Davies impression his return to the side whilst the first points of the half came when Jason Reynolds scored a well taken try midway through the half which Frankie converted.

The final points of the contest came courtesy of Wood's second try of the afternoon, Frankie added the extra two points once again.
