POLICE are hunting an arsonist who risked the lives of a woman and three children after setting fire to a mattress behind their house.
The attack happened at a house on Nelson Way yesterday (Wednesday) at around 10am when a discarded mattress in the back garden was set alight.
A police spokeswoman said: "It had the potential to endanger the lives of the female and three children who were in the house at the time.
"Fortunately the fire was discovered and extinguished before the fire took hold."
The fire caused damage to the house.
