Man knocked out in early morning attack

POLICE are urging witnesses to an early morning attack in which a man was knocked out to come forward.

A 23-year-old man was knocked unconscious when he was attacked near to the clock tower in Market Place shortly before 1am on Sunday July 29.

He suffered a broken jaw and injuries to his shoulder, and is still undergoing hospital treatment.

A spokeswoman fo Warwickshire Police said: "At the time of the attack there would have been a lot of people in the town centre, and police are appealing to anyone who was in the area and saw anything related to the assault to come forward."

Although there is no description available of the attacker, the victim is described as being over 6ft tall, of slim build and wearing a white t-shirt.
