THREE Rugby Sport for the Disabled members returned from a Glevum shoot in Gloucester with medals to their name.

Iris Bingham, Malcolm Scott and Mick Sheasby all won medals at the NCF900/NCF600 shoot which was organised by the National Crossbow Federation of GB and was only the second outdoor shoot this year due to bad weather. The shooting line was under cover and it was mostly calm with a light breeze at times.

The shoot took place at the only venue where arbalists, in the Target division, shoot 30 shots each at 50m and 40m with a 60cm target, and 30m with a three spot 40cm face which is very hard to see at that distance. For Sporting crossbows it is 40m, 30m and 20m. The Sporting shooters are allowed a telescopic sight but Target shooters have two open sights and no magnification.

Iris, shooting in the Assisted Ladies Target category (out of 300) scored 283 at 50m, 292 at 40m and 284 at 30m to give a final total of 859/900 with 43 ring tens.

Malcolm and Mick both shot in the Assited Men Sporting category (out of 200) with Malcolm scoring 190 at 40m, 193 at 30m and 198 at 20m for 581/600 with 33 ring tens. Mick scored 161 at 40m, 156 at 30m and 173 at 20m for 490/600 with five ring tens.
