POLICE have arrested a man who had gone on the run after breaching the terms of his release from prison.

Jason Coombes had been released on licence to complete his sentence in the community but failed to keep to the terms and went on the run.

He had been sentenced to 39 months in prison in August 2009 for handling stolen goods.

Police arrested Coombes after he made regular visits to his last known address in Wood Street, where officers caught up with him.

Coombes will now be returned to prison to complete his sentence.
