Hi: 24° Lo:13° 7 day

AS HAS so often proved the case this year, the weather played a part in Rugby RCC's midweek time-trial which was held on the popular K10/10 ten-mile course at Princethorpe.
Tim Hastie was a narrow winner by eight seconds from Dave Newton, with last year's series winner Craig McKee in third. A mixture of heavy showers and dry intervals meant everyone got wet at some time, but with only a gentle breeze to fight against, times were better than expected.
Beverley Masterman, Kirstie Nichols and Jane Needham all finally came in under the elusive 30 minute barrier, with Jane again winning the handicap as she continues to carve minutes off her times with each ride.
Martin Orrill had a bad night at the office, missing his start and then puncturing with just two miles to go whilst Mike and Marina Bloom used their tandem for this event and their time of 23.56 was faster than either have achieved on solo machines so far this season.
