Hi: 15° Lo:7° 7 day

PERFECT conditions allowed a record number of riders break the one-hour barrier when competing in Rugby RCC's 25-mile time-trial on the K10/25B course.
A total of 15 out of the 42 riders finished in under one hour but the quickest of those was David Kiernan who took victory in 54-53.
The K11/25B course, incorporating two loops of the A45 between the Thurlaston and Ryton islands, has proved a popular alternative to the hillier two-lap Princethorpe course and the times were made even more impressive when it transpired the timekeepers had mistakenly used an incorrect road marking at the start, subsequently confirmed by one rider's GPS data indicating the course was 135-yards too long.
Kiernan was closely followed by Tim Hastie and David Newton on a night when all riders made it back to the finish, although it transpired Kate Vanloo had gone off course and Jonathan Jordan only completed one loop of the A45 after a knee problem.
The handicap was won by the improving Beverley Masterman, followed by Collette Marshall and Kirstie Nichols as their form continues to head in the right direction.
