TIM Hastie strengthened his position at the top of Rugby RCC’s points table by winning the ten-mile time-trial on the K11/10 Long Lawford course.
The course lived up to its normal trend with heavy rain just before the start and all of the early starters got a soaking. Conditions did improve, though there was the threat of more rain throughout the event.
Hastie overcame the challenge to win in 22.33 and finish ahead of David Newton (22.46) and 16-year-old Luke Markham (23.05) who completed the top three.
Jane Needham again took the handicap, although that will prove more difficult as her recent improved times work through.
