A FIRE which damaged a classroom at St Marie's Primary School is believed to have been started deliberately.

Police and fire officers are investigating the blaze at the Catholic school's Dunchurch Road site on Saturday (June 2) at around 5.30pm.

Firefighters from Rugby and Southam were sent to tackle the fire, which left a classroom badly damaged and other parts of the building smoke logged.

Nobody was inside at the time of the blaze.

Fire investigation officers and the police are now looking into the cause and believe it was started deliberately.
