THE FAMOUS Inca city of Machu Picchu awaits one Rugby fund-raiser who is set to make a nine day trek to it for charity.
Sarah Farthing will walk the Inca trail in Peru on August 30, raising money for the Meningitis Trust in the process.
The challenge will see her cover around 55 miles and is made tough by the fact much of it is done in high altitudes of nearly 4,000m where less oxygen is available.
The 18-year-old, a University of Nottingham student, will be in Peru for three weeks and needs to raise £2,850 as part of her trip.
Sarah, a former Eastlands Primary and Rugby High school pupil, said: "I am funding a large proportion of the cost of the trip and all the money I raise goes directly to the charity and then they choose what and how much they pay for."
