A WOMAN was killed in a head-on smash near Clifton yesterday (Sunday) morning.
The 58-year-old, who has not been named, died on the A5 near the Lilbourne turn after the crash, shortly before 6.45am.
It happened when her Peugeot 206 crashed with a Ford Focus driving in the opposite direction.
The woman driving the Focus had be to be taken to University Hospital in Coventry for treatment.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash to come forward.
