LUTTERWORTH CC fell to their first defeat of the Leicestershire League Premier Division season on Saturday when Syston left as six-wicket winners.
The hosts made the worst possible start having been put in when Steven Masic fell without scoring, caught by Charles Wootton off Bilal Pardesi (2-31) with the total on 1.
Bowlers remained on top throughout the innings with Pardesi receiving good support from Carl Fourie (4-31) and Raja Hayat (2-40) as wickets fell at regular intervals.
Wicket-keeper Craig Wilson and captain Karl Smith offered most resistance, both making 43, as Lutterworth, who travel to Thorpe Arnold on Saturday, were dismissed for 176 in the 50th over.
They managed to reduce Syston to 80-4 in reply and were still in contention at that stage but an unbeaten fifth-wicket partnership of 100 between Umar Razzap (58) and George Corbett (37) saw the visitors home at 180-4 in the 48th over.
Warren Evans (1-57), Vishaal Rathod (1-18) and Nathan Welham (1-14) struck for Lutterworth whilst a Sam Green run out accounted for Cameron Mirza (36).
