POLICE are hunting two men who were disturbed trying to break into a garage at a house in Bilton.

The pair were interrupted when a woman arrived home on Bilton Road near to the vets and spotted them shortly after 11.15pm on Monday (April 30).

She alerted the police who arrived within minutes to see the burglars running through a back garden and over a fence.

A police dog team tracked the route the pair are believed to have taken from a nearby alley, across the green to Carlton Road and then through a back garden into Epsom Road.

Nearby roads were also searched and a helicopter used to trace them, but police could not catch the pair.

One is described as a white man, of large build, with a shaved shiny head and wearing a pale orange top. The secon is described as an eastern European looking white man with short dark hair, wearing a stripey top with a thick black band and a thin white band on it.

Crime prevention manager for Warwickshire Police, George Stepney, said: "We are asking the public to please stay alert and report any suspicious activity you may notice around your or your neighbours property to the police straight away. If you believe a crime is in progress dial 999."
