BURGLARS struck at three houses on the same Cawston street on the same morning.

Neighbouring homes were targeted on Somerset Place yesterday (Thursday) between 10.30am and 11am.

One burglary happened while the woman living there was asleep in her bed upstairs after finishing a night shift.

She was awoken by a noise downstairs and called the police when she realised someone was in her home.

She later discovered the thieves had stolen a television and jewellery.

Officers arrived and found a second property in the street had also been burgled, while a third property was damaged by the offenders attempting to break in.

It is not yet known if anything was stolen from the second property.

One neighbour saw a silver Ford Focus speed away from the addresses containing three white men wearing tracksuit style clothing.

Another witness reported seeing a silver Ford Focus turn out of Cavendish Road, left onto Lawford Lane and towards Lawford Road.
