TWO young children escaped serious injury thanks to their car safety seats.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to a car crash on the A428, between Beckford and Church Lawford at around 11.45am on Bank Holiday Monday.
An ambulance spokesman said two cars had been in a serious collision and both had suffered substantial damage.
He added: “A man, a woman and two young children were travelling in one car. The man, believed to be in his 30s suffered suspected back injuries and was treated at the scene. He was immobilised using a spinal board and neck collar and transferred by ambulance to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for further treatment.
“The woman, also believed to be in her 30s who was travelling in the car, was checked over at the scene by ambulance crews but did not require hospital treatment.
“Fortunately, two young children who were travelling in the rear of the car were safely secured in child safety seats so despite the impact of the crash, they were uninjured.
“The man travelling in the second car was uninjured in the crash.”
