Young duo claim medal joy

TWO members of Rugby Triathlon Club Juniors came away with medals from the Warwickshire Children's Aquathlon at Shipston on Stour.

Skip Snelson won his Tristar One category with more than 30 seconds to spare over the second placed competitor whilst Ella-Mae Fereday came second in her Tristart age group.

Reulsts: Tri Start (8 years - swim 50m, bike 600m) - Ella-Mae Fereday, 2nd Female, 4.22; Charlie Glover, 4th Male, 4.18. Tri Star 1 (9/10 years - swim 150m, bike 1200m) - Skip Snelson, 1st Male, 7.03; James Austin, 8th Male, 9.19; Benjamin Leugs, 10th Male, 9.52. Tri Star 2 (11/12 years - swim 200m, bike 1800m) - Holly Glover, 14th Female, 13.22. Tri Star 3 (13/14 years - swim 300m, bike 2400m) - Aidan McGuirk, 6th Male, 13.33; Georgia Austin, 10th Female, 14.57; Katie Clements, 12th female, 15.55; Francesca Austin, 15th Female, 17.08.

Additionally, Tristan Beardshaw and Cara McQuillan were presented with a £20 Webb Ellis voucher at last Sunday's training session. The two received the vouchers for working hard and showing commitment.

Triathlon is three sports undertaken as one - swimming, cycling and running - if you are interested in taking part, more information concerning the club's adult and junior sections can be found at www.rugbytriathlon.org.uk.

You can join in with the Junior Club at their Sunday training sessions at Rugby School and participate in any or all of the disciplines.
