Rugby Town 3 Fleet Town 3
Southern League Division One Central
RUGBY had to settle for a third successive draw on Saturday from a contest that saw them pick up two red cards and further dented their play-off hopes.
Things started perfectly for the home side as two fine finished from Seb Lake-Gaskin put them 2-0 ahead inside 20 minutes but Fleet, who are struggling at the wrong end of the table, hit back in stunning style.
Player-manager Craig Davis pulled one back in the 21st minute and they got themselves back on terms a minute before the break through Mark Watkins.
James Scott completed the fightback in the 55th minute and it appeared they were going to take all three points until Ed Booth netted an 86th minute equaliser.
Town’s frustrating afternoon ended on a sour note when Ross Miller and Michael Williams were both dismissed in the closing stages when picking up second yellow cards.
