A MOTORCYCLIST was seriously injured after being hit by a car which drove off without stopping.

It happened on Tuesday (May 8) at around 8.20pm as the biker overtook two Ford Transit vans travelling towards Ryton close to the A445 Leamington roundabot.

As he performed the maneouvre, he crashed with a Dodge Avenger 4x4 travelling in the same direction.

The man suffered a serious injury to his foot and had to be taken to Coventry's University Hospital for treatment.

The Dodge failed to stop at the scene and drove off towards Southam.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the smash to come forward.
