A MAN killed when he was hit by a train on the line in Newbold has been named.
Daniel Hancock, who was 28 and from Rugby, died when a train struck him on the railway line off Parkfield Road last Monday (April 2) at around 9am.
British Transport Police officers, Warwickshire Police and paramedics were sent to the scene and discovered Mr Hancock's body.
His death is not being treated as suspicious.
An inquest into Mr Hancock's death was opened and adjourned last week. It will resume at a later date.
Network Rail said the accident stopped all rail services through Rugby for a time. Trains were then diverted via Birmingham where possible, adding 45 minutes to journey times.
A total of 17 trains were cancelled, and 240 other trains delayed.
All lines reopened at midday once Mr Hancock's body had been removed.
