A MAN was attacked in a car and marched to a cash point in a robbery in Newbold.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the robbery in the car park of the Main Street Co-op store between 8.15pm and 8.45pm last Thursday (April 19).
It is understood a Ford Fiesta carrying three men parked up opposite the Co-op. Two of the passengers then attacked the driver before one of them walked him over to a nearby cash point to steal money from his account.
They failed to withdraw any money however and instead took £20 cash from him.
All three men then got back into the car and drove to Cawston Grange Drive where they crashed into a lampost.
The two robbers ran off across a grassed area towards Cawston, leaving their victim, who had minor injuries, in the car.
The victim went to a nearby house and asked a member of the public to call the police.
Police believe the two men knew their victim and got into the Fiesta on Railway Terrace shortly before the robbery. Officers are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
In particular they are keen to trace a car that slowed down behind the Fiesta in Cawston, then had to drive around it when it stopped in the middle of the road.
