FLOOD alerts remain in place around Rugby today (Tuesday).
After last night's wet weather broke up the dry spell experienced yesterday (Monday), the Environment Agency has kept two alerts in place for Rugby.
The River Avon between Rugby and Bidford is deemed to be at risk of flooding, as is land between Rugby and Stanford, including Lilbourne and Clay Coton.
Other areas not deemed to be flood risks have still become awash in the heavy rain, including fields around Brandon and Bretford, and Church Lawford and Kings Newnham.
It comes after a freak tornado hit homes in New Bilton last Wednesday (April 25), while on Sunday (April 29) a tree knocked down in high winds on Corporation Street outside the fire station came close to crushing a woman's car.
Firefighters spent an hour in the wet and windy weather sawing through the tree so they could remove it and get traffic moving again on the busy road.
