A PENSIONER who went missing and was found dead on farmland in Wolston nearly three weeks later died from a heart attack, a post mortem has revealed.
George Summerfield's body was found in a ditch close to the village on Tuesday (April 17) morning by police sent out to search for the Meadow Road man.
Over the past three weeks a huge search effort has seen police and Wolston villagers mobilise to try to find clues leading to the missing 77-year-old's whereabouts.
On Monday (April 16) scuba dive teams brought in from Thames Valley Police swept the River Avon in Wolston and the nearby fishing lake as part of the search.
According to the Warwickshire coroner's office, Mr Summerfield died from a heart attack. There were no marks on his body, and nothing was found to indicate he had been assaulted.
A police spokeswoman said Mr Summerfield was known to regularly take walks in the field where he was found.
