Students ready for the stage

PERFORMING arts students will put months of hard work to the test when their biggest production to date hits the stage.

Avon Valley School's talented pupils will perform their version of the classic tale Les Miserables starting on Wednesday April 25 and finishing on Saturday April 28.

Over 140 actors, singers and musicians at the performing arts school will take part after auditioning for their roles back in September.

Performing arts director at the school, Kerry Horsman-Grey, said: "The students have been working really hard and we have the strongest singing and acting cast Avon Valley has ever had.

"It is the biggest budget with revolving stage, explosions, costumes, barricades, orchestra pit and a flying set. The show will certainly go out with a bang."

The show has been directed by the school's head of drama Elisa Shaw.

Evening shows start at 7pm, with Saturday's matinee beginning at 12.30pm. Tickets cost £10 adults and £6.50 children, students and concessions. Refreshments will be available.
