CONCERN is mounting for a pensioner who has been missing for a fortnight.
Police are trying to trace two men seen talking George Summerfield on the day he disappeared in Wolston.
It comes as hundreds of people living in the village continue to band together and search for the popular and well-known 77-year-old whose disappearance was described as 'out of character'.
Mr Summerfield, of Meadow Road, was last seen in Wolston on Thursday March 29 shortly after lunchtime, and police are now trying to establish where he might have gone afterwards.
Officers have visited houses and establishments Mr Summerfield was known to frequent and used dogs, off-road bikes and the police helicopter in the search.
And villagers shocked by his disappearance have joined the search, setting up a Facebook group to share their progress and attracting over 400 followers keen to help find the widower.
They have searched woodland and fields around Wolston but have yet to find anything.
One of the last reported sightings of Mr Summerfield was in the car park of the Rose and Crown pub in Wolston, where Mr Summerfield was a regular.
He was seen talking to someone between 2pm and 3pm on March 28 - shortly before he disappeared. Earlier that day he was seen on Brandon bridge at around 11.30am talking to two men.
Police are keen to speak to these people and said they may be able to give some indication about Mr Summerfield's state of mind or his intentions.
Speaking about his disappearance, Karen Simmons, coordinator of the Finding George Summerfield Facebook group, said she set it up in response to the interest shown in helping find him by Wolston's close knit community.
She said: "It's massively out of character. George is a creature of habit and a lovely man. You can pretty much set your clock by what George does.
"The amount of people who have turned up to help find George answers how well-known he is."
Det Insp Neal Candelent of Warwickshire Police said: "We are still very concerned for George's welfare and are doing all we can to locate him.
"It is very out of character for him to wander away like this and we are worried he may have taken ill somewhere.
"I am very grateful to everyone in Wolston for the help and support they have given us in our search for George. He is clearly a much loved member of the community."
Mr Summerfield is white, 5ft 10in tall and of medium build. He has a bald head apart from long, lank greying hair down the sides.
He is thought to have been wearing a dark anorak type jacket and usually wears a green checked flat cap.
