NEW CCTV images of missing Wolston man George Summerfield, taken the day before he disappeared, have been released by police.
The pictures of the 77-year-old, who disappeared two weeks ago today (March 29), have been made public in the hope of encouraging anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward.
Concern for the Meadow Road pensioner's welfare is mounting, with people who knew Mr Summerfield calling his disappearance 'out of character'.
The images show Mr Summerfield when he went to the School Street Co-op store in Wolston to withdraw cash on Wednesday March 28 - the day before he vanished.
His bank account has not been accessed since then.
According to police he was seen talking to two men on the Brandon Road bridge over the River Avon at around 11.30am on the day he went missing.
He was seen again talking to someone in the car park of the Rose and Crown pub on between 2pm and 4pm.
Officers have appealed for the mystery people to come forward but have yet to identify any of them.
Mr Summerfield was reported missing by a relative who visited his house on Saturday March 31 and raised the alarm.
An extensive police search involving officers, dogs, off-road bikes and a helicopter have yet to reveal anything.
Wolston villagers have also banded together to search woodland and fields for Mr Summerfield, who is a widower and is described as a 'creature of habit'.
Sgt Stuart Powell, a member of the team investigating the disappearance, said: "It is now two weeks since Mr Summerfield was last seen and we are very concerned for his welfare.
"We have conducted a thorough search of his home and the village of Wolston where he was last seen, and spoken to a number of people who have confirmed Mr Summerfield is a creature of habit and for him to disappear like this is totally out of character.
"We are very grateful to the members of the community who have been helping us with our search and circulating posters and information for us, and now appeal again to anyone who has not spoken to us but may have information to come forward.
"Did you see Mr Summerfield on March 29, or have you seen him since? If you saw him before then was there anything in his behaviour which made you concerned?
"We will continue to search for Mr Summerfield until he is found and the reason for his disappearance becomes clear."
Mr Summerfield is described as white, 5ft 10in tall and of medium build. He has a bald head apart from long, lank grey hair down the sides. He often appears in an 'unkempt state'.
He is thought to be wearing a dark anorak type jacket and usually wears a green checked flat cap.
Anyone who sees him is asked to call 999 immediately.
