A MAN walking with his girlfriend was attacked by two other men wielding long knives.
The victim and his girlfriend had just parked up in St George's Avenue, Overslade, at around 11.30pm yesterday (Thursday) when he was set upon by the pair.
He suffered a cut to the back of his head and another to his chin and required stiches by paramedics who were sent to the scene.
Police used a dog team and traced the route the attackers took towards Overslade Lane and Saunton Road.
A 19-year-old man was later held for questioning by police and was released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.
Police patrols have been stepped up on the roads around St George's Avenue.
