POLICE are trying to trace a driver who hit a pedestrian and drove off without stopping.

The 19-year-old pedestrian was crossing the road at the junction of Sheriff Road, and Portland Road when a Ford Fiesta crashed into him on Tuesday March 13 at around 7.30pm.

It left the victim hospitalised with a broken knee cap. He has since been discharged from Coventry's University Hospital and is now recovering.

The driver of the Fiesta failed to stop and continued along Portland Road. Police are now trying to trace whoever was behind the wheel at the time of the crash.
