FOUR teenagers were arrested and one charged following a spate of burglaries in the area.
Between March 6 and 17 burglaries were carried out at five addresses in Rugby - Percival Road, Scots Close and three in The Arbours - plus homes in Southam, Bedworth, Nuneaton and Coventry.
On Saturday (March 17) officers arrested 18-year-old Jay Bennett, of Shulmans Walk, Coventry, and following questioning on Monday (March 19) he was charged with conspiring to commit burglary with intent to steal.
Three other boys from Coventry, aged 15, 16 and 17, were also arrested by Warwickshire officers from an address in Coventry on suspicion of burglary and later bailed pending further enquiries.
On Friday (March 16), officers recovered a VW Golf abandoned in Coventry and are investigating whether this may be connected to recent burglaries.
Officers investigating the burglaries are continuing to appeal for witnesses to contact DS Todd Lomax on 02476 483003.
