Rugby Town 4 North Greenford United 2
Southern League Division One Midlands
RUGBY’S improved run of form continued on Saturday as they secured a comfortable victory to leave themselves tenth in the table.
It took 19 minutes for the hosts to get themselves ahead, Luke Keen the man on target when he helped home Seb Lake-Gaskin’s cross.
Keen extended the advantage ten minutes later with a deflected effort that looped past Baboucar Jallow after Seb Hamilton’s flicked header had released him.
It was then Hamilton’s turn to net with Lake-Gaskin again providing the assist and Rugby led 3-0 with 33 minutes on the clock.
A push in the box allowed the visitors to pull one back from the spot a minute later, Ricky Pither the man to convert.
Ross Miller was denied by the bar at the start of the second half before Ed Booth restored the three-goal cushion when heading home Luke Leahy’s free kick.
The visitors grabbed a consolation in stoppage time through Aaron Samuel but Rugby had already done more than enough to claim all three points.
