YOUNG entrepreneur Harry Maxwell has been shown the door on BBC show Young Apprentice.
But the 16-year-old Rugby School pupil left with his head held high and with praise from Alan Sugar ringing in his ears after bowing out in the semi-final.
Lord Sugar told Harry he felt he must have been the most unlucky contestant that had ever appeared on the show having been on the losing side in every task, but added he should not be downhearted and he was sure Harry had a bright business future ahead of him.
Harry's fate was sealed on a create a popcorn task, with two teams of three up against each other. Despite pushing for his idea of a popcorn called 'Smoochies' which romantic couples could share - which Lord Sugar liked as an idea - the team went with an American-theme titled Empire State. It was well received by potential buyers, but not as well as the opposition team's Mediterranean theme, and it was goodbye, but not 'You're Fired' to all three of Harry's team.
Harry M as he was known on the show - to distinguish him from another Harry - was one of the biggest characters in the popular series and also one of the most controversial.
On screen many of his fellow contestants found him hard to work with, while off screen he found himself the subject of tabloid cameras after he was snapped out in a London nightclub boozing - swilling back £100 a bottle champagne - despite not being old enough to drink.
Harry, is studying A Levels in Maths and Further Maths, Geography and Economics.
Inspired by Simon Cowell, Harry is already something of a business veteran despite his young age, and featured in these pages earlier in the year when he launched his own property business Let’s Get Real. It aims to match people with their perfect property - whether for residential, holiday or business use - and save them the hassle of having to search through all the properties on the market.
He started his first business aged just ten, selling tickets on the internet, and has also already started other successful businesses in the fields of travel, marketing, and cosmetics.
The school prefect - who is a polo enthusiast and water-sports fanatic, as well as a talented singer and pianist - claimed in his Apprentice audition to be perfectionist who "doesn't take 'no' for an answer".
He boldly told viewers: "In terms of my intellect, self-motivation, confidence, and business instinct for my age, I am unrivalled. I have a pure entrepreneurial gift waiting to be unleashed and harnessed."
The winner of the show will win £25,000 to help them achieve their entrepreneurial dream.
The final two go head to head on Monday (December 12) at 9pm on BBC 1.
